Organized in 1952, the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors (WSLS) is a statewide volunteer organization committed to the advancement of the surveying profession. The WSLS supports professional land surveyors licensed to practice in Wisconsin as well as those seeking licensure and Certified Survey Technicians.
The WSLS consists of nine chapters throughout Wisconsin. Each chapter works diligently within its region, organizing and participating in community and educational events, networking, helping the public access licensed surveyors, and as an advocate in legislation and issues affecting the surveying profession.
History
Since 1968, the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors (WSLS) has provided land surveying students financial assistance in the form of scholarships. The awards have grown from a handful of $250 scholarships to this year's eight scholarships totaling about $19,500 with funds contributed by the WSLS Foundation, Berntsen International, Seiler Instrument, and Leica Geosystems.
Scholarships
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 72nd Annual Surveyors' Institute is being held virtually on January 27th thru 29th, 2021 and the method of delivery and presentation of the scholarships has not been determined at this time. Berntsen International, Seiler Instrument, and Leica Geosystems will each award one scholarship, the WSLS Foundation will award five scholarships. The WSLS Foundation scholarships will be presented in honor of Society members in recognition of their contributions to WSLS and the surveying profession.
