​​​​Are you ready to use your experience and skills to help people change their negative coping behaviors that can lead to addiction or to relapse?​

The Professional Recovery Coach credential is for addiction-aware individuals who want to become Professional Recovery Coaches. Those who desire a specialty in Addiction Recovery will go through an in-depth training on the neuroscience behind joyful recovery, professional recovery coach competencies and family issues in recovery. The program is designed for counselors, therapists and existing coaches plus recovery advocates or family members seeking recovery insights and tools. ​

  • Introductory membership in iCoachRecovery for 18​ month​s 

  • Access to bi-monthy Coach Connect groups

  • 83 CEUs fro​m IAPRC and NAADAC ​(upon completion of program)

  • 60 CCEs from ICF ​(upon completion of program)

  • 40 CEs from NBHWC (course CEA-000266-1)

Program Format

Program Format: 

  • Approx. 80 hours of online self-paced modules 
  • Approximate time to completion is 6-12 months depending upon student pace
  • 20 live weekly meetings, 2 hours each, led by ICARE instructors (see explanation below):

To earn the certificate, participants must attend 20 live skills sessions: 10 from the Professional Recovery Coach (PRC LS) series and 10 from the Family Issues in Recovery (FIR LS) series. Participants may choose which 10 dates they would like to attend from each series.​​ A large selection of dates are available and are regularly added throughout the year.​

​Registration Policy

​Registration is complete only after full payment has been received. Program fees must be paid prior to the start of the course unless otherwise noted. 

Cancellation & Refund

Please provide an active email address and phone number that you regularly check when registering, so we can contact you if a program is cancelled or rescheduled. 
To cancel your registration, please email ibhwt@uwsp.edu  

Refunds will be granted if the Continuing Education and Outreach office is notified no later than five (5) days after the purchase of the program.
