Learn to Lean

March 14 and March 21, 2024 | 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Details

This series will consist of two workshops that will take place virtually via Zoom.

Workshop 1 | March 14: Take Out the Garbage: Eliminate Waste from your Life and Your Processes

Learn about the eight different types of waste and how to find them hidden in your processes.

Did you know that the average process contains 95% waste? We are literally tripping over the excess in every process that we do, every single day. Are you having a hard time seeing the waste? Can't see what is extra? This course will help you understand exactly what is waste in a process, how to identify it, and how to work to eliminate it.

Workshop 2 |  March 21: Map My Ride: Value Stream Mapping

Learn the power of physically documenting your processes step by step to look for waste, value, and opportunities for improvement.

There are three versions of a process:

  1. The version that exists in work instructions or a standard operating procedure
  2. The way the process “looks" in your head when you think about it
  3. The way the process actually works when it is documented step by step

Each version can look vastly different from the others. In this session, we are going to focus on the third version through the use of a value stream mapping tool so you can understand what is REALLY going on with your processes. We will look at how to document your process, step by step, identify areas of opportunity, value and where waste exists so you can create a fantastic and revolutionary NEW process in the future that will save you time and money.
