Join us for a fun and educational camp! Health Careers Camp will feature interactive activities facilitated by UW-Stevens Point faculty/staff and community health care professionals. We will expand the knowledge of our campers pertaining to a variety of health care careers. Students who are grades 9-12 (Incoming freshman through graduating seniors) are invited!​

​​Attendees will stay in the​ UW-Stevens Point resident halls and participate in simulation labs, workshops, and experience behind-the-scenes field trips to area hospitals and medical facilities.​ All meals are included. Please identify any dietary issues in the registration if necessary.​

​Registration F​ee: $200 per student (Residential Stay in the UWSP ​Dorms only)
​
  • $100 deposit required at time of registration
  • $10 deposit required at time of registration for scholarship applicants
  • Optional Add On Fees:
    • ​Request for Single Dorm/No Roommate: $104
    • Parking Permit for Commuters: $24​
  • You must be able to provide the camper's health history, current medications (if any), immunizations, insurance, and health care providers at the time of registration

​​​If you don't have one already, you will will need to create a Camp Doc Login.  Save this information,​ you can use it for all future camps registered through Camp Docs.

Once you fill in the profile information you will be directed to select the camp you want to register for.​​​

Registration is limited to 20 participants.

​Final Payment


Final payment is due by May 24, 2024. If you have not paid for your registration, you may do so by calling UW-Stevens Point Continuing Education at 715-346-3838, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to pay by credit card.

Tuesday, June 11: Check-In Day
6:00-7:00pm          Camper Check-in @ Hans​en Hall (CE, Counselors)
7:15pm                  Meet in the Lobby for icebreakers and evening activity

 
Wednesday, June 12: Community Health Day

7:30-8:10am               Breakfast @ Debot (Campers, Counselors)

     Mid-State Technical College Nursing Simulation Lab at Aspirus Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids  

8:15am                        Load for transportation to Wisconsin Rapids at Debot (Campers, Counselors)

8:20am                         Depart for Mid-State Technical College Nursing Simulation Lab at Aspirus Riverview Hospital- from Debot (Campers, Counselors)

8:55am                         Arrive at Aspirus Riverview Hospital (410 Dewey Street, Wisconsin Rapids). Meet by the main entrance by the fireplace 9:00am.

9:00-10:00am               Nursing Simulation Lab Tour

10:00-10:10am              Restroom Break, Head to reserved room for Nursing 1+2+1 Presentation

10:10-10:40am               Nursing 1+2+1 Presentation by Jeff Christensen and Yer Lee

     Wood County Public Health

10:55am                           Load for transportation to Wood County Public Health

11:30-1:00pm                   Lunch and presentation from Wood County Public Health

     Aging & Disability Resource Center of Portage County: Virtual Dementia Tour 

1:15pm                              Load for transportation to Aging and Disability Resource Center of Portage County in Stevens Point.

2:00-4:00pm                     Virtual Dementia Tour

4:05pm                              Load Bus at Aging and Disability Resource Center for transportation back to UWSP

4:20pm                              Arrive at UWSP campus (Campers, Counselors)

5:00-6:00pm                      Dinner @ Debot (Campers, Counselors)

6:00-9:30pm                      Counselors -Evening Activities (Campers)

8:45-8:50am                   Split into 3 groups, provide a general run down of the day (Campers, 1 Counselor /group)

Cancellation Policy


You may cancel up until May 24, 2024, and be charged only the $100 non-refundable deposit fee. Cancellations received after May 24, 2024, will not be refunded. No refunds will be given for a student who leaves camp early for any reason. Send written request to uwspceweb@uwsp.edu

Health Careers Camp reserves the right to send home, without refund, any camper who fails to behave in an appropriate manner or breaks any local/state/federal laws or camp regulations.
