Celebrate Earth Day in the heart of Wisconsin’s Baraboo Hills with fellow hikers on a guided spring adventure along the Sauk Point and Baraboo segments of the Ice Age Trail. The Sauk Point Segment offers a peaceful trek beneath budding hardwoods and along gentle ridgelines, creating the perfect backdrop for honoring the beauty of our planet. Continue onto the Baraboo Segment, where rocky outcrops, glacier-carved terrain, and sweeping vistas highlight the remarkable geology shaped over millennia. Together, these segments offer a satisfying mix of moderate challenge and stunning scenery. Whether you're savoring quiet moments in the forest or taking in panoramic views from higher elevations, this Earth Day hike promises meaningful memories and great company with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Trip includes transportation and lunch at Baraboo Burger Company following the hikes.

 Entree Selection - Baraboo Burger Company

Select one of the 4 following entrees (one fountain drink included):​

  • Cranberry Mandarin Chicken Salad – Spring mix, dried cranberries, mandarin oranges, toasted walnuts, red onion and crumbled feta cheese. Topped with tender strips of grilled chicken with a cranberry citrus vinaigrette and a fresh garlic breadstick on the side. 

  • Turkey BLT Wrap - Thinly sliced smoked turkey wrapped in a garlic herb tortilla with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, tomato and a garlic mayo, with fresh seasoned chippers.  

  • Black Bean Burger - A hint of Tex-Mex! A blend of veggies, black beans, brown rice, onion, corn, red bell pepper and chiles topped with tortilla strips and salsa, with French fries. 

  • Smokey Chipotle Burger - Smoked applewood bacon, Havarti cheese, mango salsa and smokey chipotle BBQ sauce. Served on a grilled brioche bun​ with French fries.

​ Trip Information

Bus Information 

You may bring food and drink onto the Coach Bus. There is a bathroom on board, therefore we will not be stopping on the way to our first trailhead​.​ 

Your fee covers transportation, lunch at Baraboo Burger Company, and a personal driver/trail guide 

Requirements and Information 

​Please bring/wear appropriate hiking boots/shoes, gear, apparel, and water/snacks. We recommend wearing layers of clothing and bringing a change of footwear/socks (and possibly clothing) in the event you get wet. The sections we hike will be easy going at the beginning, then steep and challenging for the second segment. ​The first hike will be the Sauk Point Segment which is 3.9 miles long, and mostly downhill. We will then ride the bus to the trailhead of the Baraboo Segment for a 4-mile hike, which is mostly flat city walking. We will go to lunch after the hikes, so you may want to bring a snack to eat between segments. We anticipate returning to Stevens Point around 4:00 p.m.

​Cancellation Policy​

Since we make financial commitments in advance, no refunds will be issued for cancellations. However, you may send a substitute in your place. Please email us at Adventure.Tours@uwsp.edu to inform us of the substitution.​
