Join us on Earth Day, April 22, 2025, for the Ice Age Trail – Mecan River Segment Hiking Adventure! Your trip leaders are excited to guide you through Wisconsin’s beautiful spring landscape on this easy 7.7-mile trail in Waushara County. As we hike along the Mecan River, you’ll experience serene forests, open prairies, and gentle glacial terrain on a well-maintained, mostly flat path suitable for all skill levels. After the hike, enjoy an included lunch at Starks & Luce, where we’ll relax and reflect on our adventure. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate Earth Day in nature—sign up today!​​​​

Your trip leaders are Anne Rogalski, Mara Prausa and Tim Zeszutek and we are happy you are joining us as we embrace the new growth of spring in Wisconsin while hiking on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail!

​Van Information 

You may bring food and drink into the van.​ 

Your fee covers transportation, lunch at Starks & Luce, and a personal driver/trail guide 

Requirements and Information 

​Please bring/wear appropriate hiking boots/shoes, gear, apparel, and water/snacks. We recommend wearing layers of clothing and bringing a change of footwear/socks (and possibly clothing) in the event you get wet. The section we are hiking will be an easy 7.7 mile footpath in Waushara County. We anticipate returning to Stevens Point around 3:30 p.m.

Van​ Loading Location: Parking lot in front of Dunhams Sports, corner closest to McDonald's (HWY 10, Stevens Point)
Van Loading Time: 7:45 a.m. (please be on time)
Van Departure from Stevens Point: 8:00 a.m.

Wausau Pick Up ​(if 4 or more ​register for Wausau pick-up) 

Van Loading Location: ​Parking Lot G in front ​​of Center for Community Engagement (​625 Stewa​​rd Ave, Wausau) ​
Van Loading Time: 7:00 a.m. (please be on time)
Van Departure from Stevens Point​: 7:15 a.m.

​Cancellation Policy​

Since we make financial commitments in advance, no refunds will be issued for cancellations. However, you may send a substitute in your place. Please email us at Adventure.Tours@uwsp.edu to inform us of the substitution.​
