Pathway to Clinical Health and Wellbeing Coach​ (CHWC) Credential​ Program Summary

We prepare you to step into healthcare with clarity, confidence, and practical skill as a Clinical Health and Wellbeing Coach (CHWC). Through applied learning, you will build the capabilities required to contribute meaningfully within clinical teams, support real-world patient outcomes, and meet the standards expected for CHWC certification.

Available in 3 Different Virtual Cohort Options: 

  • Mondays and Wednesdays: 4:30 - 7 p.m. CT, July 6 - July 29, 2026
  • Mondays and Wednesdays: 4:30 - 7 p.m. CT, August 3 - August 26, 2026
  • Mondays and Wednesdays: 4:30 - 7 p.m.​ CT, August 31 - September 28, 2026 (​There will be no class on Labor Day, September 7)​

​8 Module Program​


​1. Where am I?
Navigate healthcare systems with confidence and understand where health coaching fits within real-world care delivery.

2. Who am I here?
Define your role clearly and communicate your value as a healthcare-integrated coach within interdisciplinary teams.

3. How do clients get to me?
Understand referral pathways, intake processes, and how clients enter coaching within clinical settings.

4. What do I write?
Document your work professionally using clear, compliant language that supports communication with healthcare teams.

5. What do I do in sessions?
Apply your coaching skills in real clinical contexts while aligning with care plans, time constraints, and scope of practice.

6. How do I sustain care?
Support ongoing behavior change by helping clients navigate real-life barriers, adherence challenges, and long-term health goals.

7. What can get me in trouble?
Recognize risks, maintain boundaries, and practice safely within ethical and clinical guidelines.

8. How do I show value?
Track outcomes, communicate impact, and demonstrate your value within healthcare systems.

Early registration is encouraged, enrollment is limited to 24 students per cohort. Registrants will be processed in the order they are recieved. ​​

Certification and Credential Decisions


This program supports preparation for CHWC certification; final certification credential decisions are determined independently by the Institute for Behavior Change (IBC).

Registration and Payment

Registration is complete only after full payment has been received. Program fees must be paid prior to the start of the program. 

Cancellation and Refunds 

The Continuing Education and Outreach office reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a program due to low enrollment, instructor illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will receive a full refund. 

Please provide an active email address that you regularly check when registering, so we can contact you if a program is cancelled or rescheduled.

Refunds will be granted if the Continuing Education and Outreach office is notified at least seven (7) days prior to the start of the program. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than seven (7) days before the programs start date.

Technology Requirements

To create a safe space, ensure proper engagement in the program, and provide participants with the CCEs and CEs for this course, we expect all participants to attend for the duration of the training, have a good internet connection, and participate with the camera on. ​​​

Participants are responsible for ensuring their computer and internet connection meet the minimum requirements to participate in virtual programs via Zoom. For the best experience, we recommend using the Chrome or Firefox web browser.

The Continuing Education and Outreach office is not responsible for participant technology issues, including but not limited to inadequate internet bandwidth, connectivity problems, or equipment malfunctions. ​
