GOOD LUCK
The distinguishing features exhibited by many pieces in the GOOD LUCK patter, also known as HORSESHOE, are the horseshoe-formed handles and finals. The stippled floral motif that appears on the body of this non-lead glassware alternates with a trapezoidal ornament that inspired some collectors to call the patter “Prayer Rug.” Ruth Webb Lee speculates this name may have been applied early to the goblet, which has no horseshoe element in its design. Only later did collectors realize it was part of the GOOD LUCK patter. Lee describes the goblet as “exceptionally dainty and attractive.” (50 Favorites catalogue)
