Trail Use

  • Trail passes are required for all activities including hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. Passes for guests of Treehaven, and class and conference participants are included in the site use fee. 
  • Daily Trail Passes are $5 and available at Trailheads.  Fees are used for trail maintenance and equipment.
  • No pets, or motorized vehicles allowed on trails.
  • Treehaven currently grooms and maintains ~9 miles (14km) of classic ski trails and 4 miles (6.5km) of snowshoe trails.
  • All classic trails are two way and groomed with a double set of classic tracks.
  • There is a parking lot available for ski trail use with access to the Sugarbush Trail off Hwy H. Snowshoe trails can be accessed via the main visitor lot near White Pine Lodge.  There is additional ski trail parking near the main office and Fern Young Cottage that provides access to the Dragonfly Loop and Big Pine Loop.

October 3-5, 2025 - The western portion of the Treehaven property will be CLOSED to the public from Friday, October 3 through Sunday, October 5 due to planned prescribed fire activities. The closed area (highlighted in red) includes the Red Oak Loop, Deer Path, and Sugarbush trails. For your safety, please respect posted closures. 

The Northwest Passage between points 2 and 29 is CLOSED to the public due to a hazardous boardwalk collapse. This section of the trail will remain closed and blocked off until repairs are completed. For your safety, please avoid the affected area (highlighted in red). 

These closures will NOT impact the guided fall hike on Sunday, October 5th from 1-5 PM, which will proceed as scheduled.
