Schmeeckle Reserve is a natural area on the campus of UW-Stevens Point that serves as a sanctuary for ecological communities and people, guided by the following priorities:

  1. Refuge: Preserve, maintain, and restore native ecological communities of central Wisconsin.

  2. Research & Education: Serve as an outdoor laboratory for teaching and research.

  3. Recreation: Provide recreational opportunities for the campus and the community, when those uses are not in conflict with the first two priorities.
