Thank you to our project partners for their continued collaboration and financial support.

Project Overview

The WFC in collaboration with the Wisconsin Center for Wildlife (WCW) are partnering with the Wisconsin Young Forest Partnership (WYFP) and Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) to create habitat management demonstration sites by focusing on providing continuous, multi-age habitat areas that encompass the habitat components important to ruffed grouse and woodcock at the varying stages of their life cycle. Once completed, the demonstration sites will be available for professional development trainings, community events, and self-guided virtual tours.

Project Goals

  • Develop ruffed grouse and woodcock habitat demonstration forests which emphasize forest management across time
  • Provide professional development trainings and landowner workshops on forest management for ruffed grouse and woodcock
  • Develop self-guided virtual tours of the demonstration forests
  • Create an interpretive trail at Treehaven's Ruffed Grouse Habitat Demonstration Site
