Teaching
CITL team members can assist with designing courses, enhancing classroom techniques, developing course materials, and documenting teaching effectiveness. Team members also consult with representatives of units; such as committees, departments, schools or colleges on teaching-related issues like planning a teaching initiative within the unit, revising curricula, or evaluating a program.
Technology and Software
Please feel free to inquire about assistance with any technology or software. CITL team members can help you find the right application or program to meet your instructional needs and can help you learn how to safely use new applications, programs, and web 2.0 tools. Please contact CITL team members for assistance with incorporating new applications and technology tools into your instruction.
Accessibility
Making content accessible means that all users, regardless of disabilities, have equal access to the content. This is not simply a nice gesture, it is required by federal law. There are many easy things that can be done to make online content more accessible.
- Use built-in headings and styles when creating text documents.
- Use meaningful hyperlink text, avoid using "Click here"
- Specify header information when creating tables.
- Avoid split cells and nested tables when creating tables.
- Provide alternative text (Alt Text) for all images.
- Avoid using only color to convey information
- All video should include closed captions. CITL can help you provide closed captions.
Here are some helpful resources.
Please contact CITL if you would like assistance making your course materials more accessible.
