Canvas is back online and you may resume normal activity. The company has posted information at https://www.instructure.com/incident_update. Please (help@uwsp.edu / 715.346.4357) if you see something that doesn’t look as it did on Wednesday (5/6). We are asking all instructors to be flexible on any assignments or tests that were due on Thursday (5/7) or today (5/8), and to push their acceptance dates to Monday (5/11). Please reach out to your dean with questions or concerns.
This is still a developing situation, and we will continue to provide updates at uwsp.edu/canvas. It is possible that Canvas could go down again since it is under an active attack from a well-known hacking group. We recommend downloading your Canvas grade book, and consider alternative methods of accepting assignments (email, OneDrive) or giving tests (paper, etc.). Instructors can also enable their course content for download to ensure students can obtain copies in the event of another outage.
