Stevens Point in 2011 was ranked higher than any other Wisconsin city in the Bicycle Federations Wisconsin Bicycling Benchmarking Report for commuting by bike. Overall, Wisconsin ranks higher than the national average for percentage of trips made by bicycle. The University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point is a 2023 Silver level Bike Friendly University and Stevens Point has been a Bike Friendly Community since 2013 and most recently recieved a Silver desgination in 2020.
Traveling by bike not only provides you great health benefits, but it helps the environment and your wallet too! There is a bike repair and air pump station on campus at the DUC. For more involved repairs there are several bike shops in the area who can assist you: Point Area Bicycle Service, Campus Cycle & Sport Shop, Trek Bike Store and the Hostel Shoppe.
The UW-Stevens Point Comprehensive Campus Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan was adopted in the spring of 2019. The plan outlines the existing resources available to bicyclists and pedestrians and provides a tiered plan for implementing new initiatives to improve the resources available to users of the UWSP campus. UWSP is in the beginning stages of implementing these new recommendations and will continue to do so into the future.
