Welcome to the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP). Our mission is to support the outstanding work of UWSP’s faculty and staff in fostering student success, providing enriching learning experiences, and enhancing their own professional development.
The Provost serves as UWSP’s chief academic officer, providing oversight for the university’s four colleges, its many academic programs, and its faculty and instructional academic staff. The office is responsible for numerous functions related to teaching and learning, including academic planning and program review, accreditation, and assessment of student learning. It also coordinates advising, career counseling, tutoring, and other activities designed to ensure student success. Faculty and staff will find help with professional enrichment, including instructional development, pedagogical innovation, research, and grant funding. Finally, the office serves as a resource for personnel issues including those related to hiring, appointment types, and retention, tenure and promotion.
In addition to these activities, Academic Affairs also provides direction to a number of UW System and campus initiatives. These include strategic planning, general education reform, Inclusive Excellence, and the Equity Scorecard.
