Free lecture on the art of salary negotiation
2/20/2013

Learn how and when to negotiate your salary in a free lecture at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Held Friday, March 8, from 10–11:30 a.m. in the Alumni Room in the Dreyfus University Center, “Ask for It: The Power of Negotiation” will be presented by author and speaker Sara Laschever. Through her research, combined with interviews of a diverse range of men and women, Laschever examines why asking for a raise or promotion is difficult, especially for women.
The event is free for community members, but seats are limited and reservations are required by calling 715-346-3838 or visiting http://business.portagecountybiz.com/Events. UW-Stevens Point students can reserve free tickets through UW-Stevens Point www.uwsp.edu/conted/sbdc.
Laschever co-authored “Women Don’t Ask: The High Cost of Avoiding Negotiation.” She also lectures and leads workshops about women’s challenges in the modern workforce for corporate audiences, colleges and universities, law firms, government agencies and at women’s leadership conferences around the world.
Laschever’s lecture is sponsored by UW-Stevens Point’s College of Professional Studies, the School of Business & Economics, and the Small Business Development Center through UW-Stevens Point Continuing Education.
