Laurie joined the UW-Marshfield/Wood County Campus in October 2002. She earned her Master's Degree in Library and Information Studies at UW-Madison in 2002 after completing a double major in Psychology and Social Work at UW-Whitewater. Prior to moving to Marshfield, Laurie was employed at UW-Rock County for several years. Laurie got her love of reading from her mother and first started working in libraries in 3rd grade (shelving books in her Elementary School). Although her love of academia runs strong, Laurie is also passionate about the work she has been doing in our local public library. As a librarian, working with people and helping them find information is the most rewarding part of her job. Some of Laurie's other interests include reading, traveling, and volunteering for Ruby's Pantry, World Book Night and Habitat for Humanity, amongst other charities. Other passions include animals, gardening, cross stitch, cooking, painting, computers and researching.
