When I began teaching food & travel writing, I realized how essential it was for students to understand the fundamentals of writing across media platforms and in a variety of voices – from the third-person, detached voice of the news reporter to the engaging, first-person narrative voice used in many print and online feature stories.
I also realized the growing importance of knowing how to produce a professional blog. Over the past two years, I have read countless blogs, done research on producing, maintaining and promoting a blog, and have begun to write my own – “At My Greek Table.” My posts are inspired by my Greek family and my annual study abroad trips to Greece and the many places influenced by Greek food & culture.
