A Pointers win does not just get fans excited, but local businesses as well.
"One Point! Go Point baby!" UW-Stevens Point students Austin Cordell and Evan Butts said. It is the right thing to say after the UWSP Men's Basketball Team won their Elite 8 game against East Texas Baptist University.
"Most people in the U.S. haven't even heard of Stevens Point and you know to have a Division 3, Elite 8 Tournament game here, it's unbelievable and we're here to represent and show what we're about," Cordell and Butts said.
The big Pointers game does not just give students something to cheer on, but local restaurants and pubs have something to be happy about too.
