Introduce your
child to playing an instrument during a free open house at the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Aber Suzuki Center.
Held Saturday,
July 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Noel Fine Arts Center, the event will begin
with an instrument “petting zoo.” Children may try playing a violin, viola, cello,
piano, voice, harp and flute, then listen to a performance by current Suzuki
students.
At 10:45 a.m.,
there will be a director’s welcome and an orientation session for parents with
questions about program offerings. At 11 a.m., children younger than four years
old with their parents are encouraged to participate in the Suzuki Early
Childhood Education introductory class.
Faculty members
will be available throughout the morning to answer questions, or stop by the
registration table for information. Anyone who registers for lessons at the
open house will get a $50 tuition rebate for fall lessons. A $99 certificate
for four twenty minute lessons will also be available to those who just want to
“try out” music lessons.
