Healthy shorelands tours offered through UW-Stevens Point

Community members will have the opportunity to learn about healthy shorelands during free tours hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Center for Watershed Science and Education on Saturday, June 30.

The Healthy Shorelands Tour series will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Springville Pond, 2431 Rainbow Drive, Plover. Participants will learn the importance of keeping a naturally vegetative boundary between waterways and shorelines. Each tour will feature a shoreland that has either been restored or protected. Professionals will be present to answer questions related to shoreland practices, vegetation, local regulations, invasive plants and other general inquiries.
