A guest pianist with a reputation as an accomplished and versatile soloist and chamber musician will present a recital and master class at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Robert Satterlee will perform Monday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall at the Noel Fine Arts Center, 1800 Portage St., Stevens Point. He will also conduct a piano master class in Michelsen Hall for UW-Stevens Point piano students on Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. Both events are free and open to the public, sponsored by the College of Fine Arts & Communication and the Willett Fund Foundation.
Satterlee plays regularly at the Music Teachers National Association national conventions and in concerts throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. He shared a program and toured the U.S. with composer and pianist Frederick Rzewski, and recorded a CD of his works.
Satterlee has also collaborated with members of the Chicago, London, Philadelphia and Detroit symphony orchestras in chamber music performances. A member of the piano faculty of Bowling Green State University, he teaches at the Interlochen Arts Camp and the Saarburg International Music Festival in Germany during the summer. He holds degrees in piano from Yale University, Peabody Conservatory and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music.
The Foundation Fund Series Endowment was established with donations from alumni, community members, and friends of the College of Fine Arts & Communication. Earnings from the endowment enable students and the Central Wisconsin community to explore the world of fine arts and communication by supporting guest artists, speakers and other enriching experiences.
