Laser light shows to be presented at UWSP planetarium

Laser light shows, some with spooky themes, will rock the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Allen F. Blocher Planetarium in October and November.

These entertaining laser shows present a wide variety of visual effects with rock or popular music accompaniment. Shows will be Wednesday through Saturday, Oct. 26–29, and November 2–5.  Show times are at 8, 9 and 10 p.m. 

On Monday, Oct. 31, there will be two special showings of Fright Light at 9 and 10 p.m.  The 8 p.m. Halloween star program that night, no lasers, will be The Skies of Fall.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Oct. 26 – (three shows)  8 p.m., Laser Beatles : songs from the fab four; 9 p.m., Laser Retro, music of the Police, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears and others; and 10 p.m., Laser Vinyl, classic rock with  Aerosmith, AC/DC, Kiss, and others

  • Oct. 27 – Fright Light, Halloween theme with 16 different artists

  • Oct. 28 – Fright Light, Halloween theme with 16 different artists

  • Oct. 29 – Fright Light, Halloween theme with 16 different artists

  • Oct. 31 – Fright Light at 9 and 10 p.m., Halloween star program, 8 p.m.

  • Nov. 2 – Laser Metallica 

  • Nov. 3 – Pink Floyd, The Wall

  • Nov. 4 – Laser Zeppelin           
                                                                                      
  • Nov. 5 – Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon

Tickets will be available at the door beginning at 7:30 p.m. and are valid only for that day.  Admission prices for the laser shows (tax included) are Adults $5, Students $4, and UW-Stevens Point students with current ID, $3.  These shows are not recommended for children under 12. 

The Allen F. Blocher Planetarium is located on the second floor of the Science Building at the corner of Reserve Street and Fourth Avenue. Parking is available in Lot X near the building entrance and is free after 7 p.m. More information is online.
