UW-Stevens Point discussion addresses Pope Francis on climate change

A panel discussion on the significance of a recent papal letter about climate change will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Wednesday, March 2. 

Held at 7 p.m. in the Encore Room of the Dreyfus University Center, the event is a free, public conversation about “Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home” by Pope Francis. This second papal letter addresses climate change, consumerism, development and other environmental topics.

 

Panelists will include scholars from different disciplines and representatives of local religious communities, including:

 

·         Father Tom Lindner, Holy Spirit Parish

·         Huda Alkaff, Wisconsin Green Muslims

·         Jennifer Collins, UW-Stevens Point Department of Political Science

·         Brad Mapes Martins, UW-Stevens Point Department of Political Science

·         Dan Dietrich, Presbyterian Action Team of Citizens’ Climate Lobby
