Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has been a standout among the numerous bands that launched the nineties swing revival since they arrived in 1993 with a residency at the Los Angeles’ Brown Derby nightclub. Along with playing classics of American jazz, big band and swing, the seven-man group has also built their own songbook of original tunes, including “You & Me and the Bottle Makes Three (Tonight)” and “Go Daddy-O.”
They have performed at the Hollywood Bowl and Lincoln Center, for a Super Bowl half-time show and for three American presidents. They have also appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “Live with Regis and Kelly” and wrote, performed and recorded the theme song for the Carson Daly show after appearing multiple times as the show’s house band. They have released seven CDs, their latest a collection of Cab Calloway songs, “How Big Can You Get? The Music of Cab Calloway," in 2009. For more information, go to www.bbvd.com.
