Recognized for leadership and service to the campus and community, a select group of spring semester graduates at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point have been honored with the 2021 Chancellor's Leadership Award and the Albertson Medallion Award in a virtual ceremony at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 12.
Chancellor's Leadership Awards
Established in 1978 at the urging of former Chancellor Lee Sherman Dreyfus, the award honors graduates who contribute significant leadership, demonstrate university or community service and display a commitment to personal growth. Each recipient receives a bronze medallion emblazoned with the university seal, hanging from a purple and gold ribbon. The award is given each semester.

Albertson Medallion Award
The highest recognition of student achievement at the university, the Albertson award is named in memory of the eighth UW-Stevens Point president who died in a 1967 plane crash in South Vietnam while on an academic mission. The Albertson Medallion acknowledges excellence in graduating students' leadership, academics and extracurricular activities.
Winners, who are also Chancellor's Leadership Award honorees, are chosen through a nomination process each spring which involving student organizations and faculty members. Less than one percent of each academic year's graduating class earns the honor.
