Campus Orchestra, Campus Band in concert at UW-Stevens Point

Enjoy a variety of instrumental music in a concert by the Campus Band and Campus Orchestra at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Monday, March 2.

The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall at the Noel Fine Arts Center, 1800 Portage St., Stevens Point. The Campus Orchestra is directed by Anna Cromwell, assistant professor of violin and viola, and the Campus Band is directed by Patrick Lawrence, associate professor of low brass and instrumental music education.

The orchestra will perform "Appalachian Tidbits," "Pavane and La Volta" by William Byrd, "Three Susato Dances" by Tielman Susato, "Rainfall in Vernazza" by Chris Thomas and "Heart of Fire" by Lauren Bernofsky.

The band will perform "Kronos" by Robert Smith, "Blue and Green Music" and "Novo Lenio" by Samuel Hazo and "New Wade'n Water" by Adolphus Hailstork, led by apprentice conductor Alexandra Gordon.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for UW-Stevens Point students, faculty and youth and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. if not sold out. Tickets also may be purchased at the door if available. Proceeds benefit student scholarships.
