The Campus Band will perform along with two small
chamber groups in a concert at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on
Thursday, March 10.
The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall of
the Noel Fine Arts Center. The Campus Band is conducted by Associate Professor
Patrick Lawrence. Senior music education major Philip Davies will serve
as an apprentice conductor.
Music
majors will make up two smaller chamber groups, performing “Three Shanties” by
Malcolm Arnold, “Die Bankelsangerlieder” edited by Robert King and
“Quintet No. 1” by Victor Ewald. The Campus Band will perform “With Honor and
Praise” by UW-Stevens Point Professor Charles Young, as well as “If Thou Be
Near” by Johan Sebastian Bach, “Instant Concert” by Harold Waters and “Exaltation”
by James Swearingen.
Part of the Music Department Scholarship Series, the
concert is $8.25 for adults, $5.25 for senior citizens, $4.25 for
students and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point
I.D. Tickets are available at the University Information and Tickets Office in
