Summer studio art workshops at UW-Stevens Point
Create art with faculty of the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point this summer through a studio art workshop.
Held as part of UW-Stevens Point Camp COFAC for high school students, the workshops will be open to adult members of the community the week of June 25–29 in the Noel Fine Arts Center, 1800 Portage St. The costs vary by class and include supplies.
The workshops include:
Glass Fusing and Slumping with Kristin Thielking – Design and create a glass sculpture, tiles or jewelry pieces using fusing or slumping (stacking and melting glass pieces together in a kiln), $120 for either session.
o Monday, June 25, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (with an hour break for lunch)
o Tuesday, June 26, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (with an hour break for lunch)
Metal Casting and Relief Sculpture with Keven Brunett — Explore a dynamic method of metal casting. Design and create a clay mold, melt and pour the metal and break away the mold to discover your cast, $120 for either session.
o Wednesday, June 27, 8 a.m.–noon, and Thursday, June 28, 1–4 p.m.
o Thursday, June 28, 8 a.m.–noon, and Friday, June 29, 1–4 p.m.
o Monday, June 25, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (with an hour break for lunch)
o Tuesday, June 26, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (with an hour break for lunch)
Mixed Media Painting with Mark Brueggeman —Explore various drawing media and create large scale art using charcoal, pastel, ink, collage, found material and a variety of drawing tools, $75 for either session.
o Wednesday, June 27, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (with an hour break for lunch)
o Friday, June 29, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (with an hour break for lunch)
o Monday–Wednesday evenings, June 25–27, 7:30–9 p.m.
