Suzuki students honored by CWSO
A sixteen-year old student at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Aber Suzuki Center (ASC) has been honored by the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra (CWSO).
Edward (Teddy) Schenkman, a Marshfield student of David Becker at the ASC, is the winner of the orchestra’s biennial Young Artist Concerto Competition. He is a senior at Marshfield High School and will perform Ernest Bloch’s “Suite Hebraique” for viola and orchestra with the CWSO at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, and at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Theatre@1800 in Sentry headquarters.
Also honored in the CWSO competition were ASC students Annie Yao, the first runner-up, and Wade Dittburner, the second runner-up. Both were students of Kyoko Fuller, who retired from the ASC this summer.
