Math Tutoring for 7th-12th Graders, Fall 2024

How Does it Work?

How: This is a drop-in service for 7th - 12th graders which means no need to register in advance. A parent/guardian will have to complete the waiver (see below) on or before the first visit.

What: This is a drop-in service for math tutoring that is supported by the Tutoring-Learning Center and the UWSP Math Department. The tutors are current UWSP students employed by the UWSP Tutoring-Learning Center.

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Program Start and End Dates: This program takes place during the UWSP academic fall and spring terms. There is NO tutoring during the first week of the semester, finals weeks, or summer and winterim. See UWSP Academic Calendar​ for specific term dates.

Cost: Free

Waivers Are Required!

  • Completed and signed waiver form.
  • ​​Or, complete a waiver form at the first visit (copies will be available at the TLC main desk in CBB 165)

Parking and Drop-off

  • Ideally, parents should bring their student to room CBB 165 on the first visit. This is especially preferred for 7th and 8th graders.
  • After the first visit, parents may drop off their student outside of the Chemistry Biology Building (CBB) and return for pick-up.
  • Metered parking is available in Lot T. After 5 p.m., free parking is offered in Lot R. (UWSP Campus Map)

What to Expect

  • Students should bring course materials such as their textbook, Chromebook or laptop, calculator, notes, etc.
  • Tutors will help students understand course content through discussion, review, and practice. They will not lecture or simply give answers.
  • Tutoring is a collaborative learning process. Students will be encouraged to actively participate.
