To request tutoring services, log into Navigate and set up an appointment with your tutor. If you encounter any difficulties, you can email the TLC at
tlctutor@uwsp.edu, call our office, or stop in CCC 234. Our office staff can help connect you to the most appropriate service.
How much does tutoring cost?
All tutoring through the TLC is free for students.
What can I expect from tutoring?
Tutors are not substitutes for your instructors and cannot do homework for you. You are expected to attend your classes regularly. Before your tutoring session, read your textbook and complete as much of your homework as possible. Bring your textbook, class notes, old test papers, and any class handouts. Come prepared with questions about your reading assignments or homework that you didn’t understand.
What if I can't meet my tutor in person?
The TLC offers virtual tutoring. You can select this option in Navigate or tell the front desk. We also have an
Online Writing Lab where you can submit writing for virtual feedback.
What if I can't make my appointment?
Contact the front desk as soon as you know you will not make your appointment; they will help cancel or reschedule your appointment. Note that three no shows will result in the cancellation of already scheduled appointments and a loss of TLC services for the duration of the semester.
Can I ask tutors to edit my paper?
While tutors are not permitted to edit or proofread papers, they can show you how to locate and revise common errors.
What if I am unhappy with my tutor?
If you are not satisfied with your tutor, you may talk to the front desk staff OR email
tlctutor@uwsp.edu to request a new tutor.
