Labratory & Research Safety in Academic Settings

Environmental Health and Safety supports the research at UW-Stevens Point by providing professional services, technical expertise, strong partnerships and regulatory oversight to all laboratories on campus. Laboratory safety takes a collaborative effort—all faculty, staff, and lab personnel have responsibilities to ensure a safe environment for academic research.

Potential Hazards in Academic Settings and Labratories

The laboratory safety program is an educational and inspections program designed to maintain and improve safety of campus laboratories. The program utilizes the expertise of UW-Stevens Point's Environment Health & Safety experts to identify potential safety hazards and to raise the level of awareness of Principal Investigators (PIs) and lab staff on the safety and regulatory requirements for their specific labs.
