Student Directory Records Request
Degree and Enrollment Verification
To conveniently serve students, prospective employers and other organizations that require degree and enrollment information, the UW-Stevens Point has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to act as its agent for confirmation of student enrollment and degree verifications. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
External Student Directory Records Requests
UW-Stevens Point provides student directory information when the information is requested. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) provides students with the right to restrict the release of their directory information. UWSP notifies students of their FERPA rights at the beginning of the semester and provides them with one week to understand and enact those FERPA restrictions before any information will be released for external requests.
UW-Stevens Point Student Lists
Two types of external directory requests are available. An Enrollment Request includes degree-seeking students enrolled in the current semester. A Graduation Request includes students who have either applied to graduate in the current semester or have graduated, if requesting the previous semester.

Common enrollment requests include the following information for degree-seeking students: - Address (campus and local)
- Academic Level (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior)
- Student Type (undergraduate, graduate, post-baccalaureate & non-degree seeking)
- Anticipated Graduation Term
| Graduation requests include: - Graduation Date (expected/actual)

The registrar, or his/her designee, is the final authority for approving/denying requests for UW-Stevens Point student information.
UW-Stevens Point student information shared with a requestor and/or organization includes student education records protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, 20 U.S.C 1232g et seq. (FERPA). The information shall be used by the requestor and/or organization only for the purposes approved by the University. The requestor and/or organization shall not transmit, share or disclose the information with any third party unless written consent from the appropriate University authority is obtained and such re-disclosure is permissible under FERPA. Failure to comply with the requirement not to transmit, share or disclose information, except for the approved purposes, could prohibit the requestor and/or organization from receiving any student information from the University for a period of not less than five (5) years.
Lists will be provided in an Excel file, emailed to the requester’s email account within 5 business days of payment being received. Payment for the student list must be paid in full before the data is provided. If the request is not paid within thirty (30) days of invoicing, the request will be deleted, and a new request must be submitted.
