FALL 2025 - PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SHOWS FROM EARLY SEPTEMBER UNTIL LATE DECEMBER

​ The fall shows (general public) are scheduled on Sunday afternoons, from 2-3PM. Planetarium doors will open about half-hour prior to the beginning of a show. We can accommodate up to 55 people per show, on a first-come, first-served basis.

All our regular public shows are about one hour long and include a 25-min presentation focusing on the current night sky of Central WI (bright stars, constellations, planets, etc.)

Junior Scientist programs (the second Sunday of each month, at 3:00PM book reading in SCI A201 and at 3:30PM planetarium program) – recommended age 4+

September 14 - Planets of t​he Solar System - A live, guided exploration of the Sun and the eight planets of the Solar System.

October 12 - Understanding the Basics of the Calendar - We will explore concepts like day, month, year...We will also talk about the connection between the names of the days and some important objects in our Solar System.

November 9 - Stories of the Constellations – We will learn together a few constellations and the ancient legends associated with them.

December 14 - Larry, Cat in Space - prerecorded show






Note: Many public planetarium shows will be rented for a fee that ranges between $60-$100 per show. Donations of $1-$2 per attendee will be greatly appreciated to allow us to continue these public programs for our community of all ages.



The Allen F. Blocher Planetarium is located in the Science Building on the UW-Stevens Point main campus.
The Science building (2001 Fourth Ave) is at the southwest corner of Fourth Avenue and Reserve Street. 
The planetarium consists of a 7.3m diameter dome with three rows of concentric benches (maximum 55 seats) that houses a DIGISTAR LITE system (installed in 2020). 

 

Groups of eight or more may schedule a special showing of any planetarium program by calling 715-346-2120 or by filling our online reservation request form. There is a cost of $35 per group for these special presentations. ​

Location and Parking

 The Allen F. Blocher planetarium is located on the second floor of the Science Building, by the Foucault pendulum. Direct access is obtained through the east side entrance.

Parking is free on campus for our guests on Saturdays and Sundays. 

From Monday-Friday, the UWSP parking lots are enforced
