Permits

Obtaining a parking permit on campus is a two-step process for Faculty/Staff;

  • WAITLIST sign-up and
  • PERMIT purchase

Lot assignments of parking spaces are based on continuous seniority-of-service at UWSP and require a waitlist signup by August 1st each year. Faculty/staff can select two waitlist options; first choice lot & second choice lot. To sign up on the waitlist, scroll down and click on the link below and select the Add/Edit Waitlists button button under the Permits section.

The PERMIT PURCHASE step begins in early August after the seniority WAITLIST lot assignment is completed. Your waitlist lot assignment reservation will be held for a two-week period for you to purchase your permit. If you have not purchased a permit in that timeframe, the reservation will be released to the next senior person on the list. Permit requests received after August 1st are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Second semester parking permit sales begin in early January. Summer permits are available after spring semester finals week. Permits are valid from September 1st through August 31st.

Permits will be virtual, so your LICENSE PLATE IS your PERMIT!  License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology is used to capture and read a vehicle license plate to confirm that the vehicle is registered and has permission to park in the designated lot(s) on campus.

Important:  Vehicle license plates must be unobstructed, affixed to the bumper, and displayed in view from the driving lane of a parking space.

Prior to purchasing your permit, be sure your vehicle information is accurate.  You can link up to three vehicles to your permit at point of purchase.  Additional vehicles that are added to your vehicle account online do not automatically get linked to the permit.  Please contact Parking.Services.Office@uwsp.edu to have us link or delete vehicles.

Permit Payment Options:

  • Cash/Check in Parking Services office (Checks can be mailed to parking services with the permit user's name and license plate number(s) to be linked to permit.)
