Staff/Faculty and Students with DOT issued disabled permits may purchase a university accessible parking permit which allows parking in designated "Accessible Permit Required" RESERVED stalls, in campus meter stalls without payments, and in permit stalls when the accessible permit reserved stalls are full.

Those interested in an Accessible Permit should sign up on the waitlist and contact Parking Services. Parking Services will request a copy of your disabled permit to ensure ownership and expiration date prior to issuing permit. Both campus permit and DOT permit must be displayed while parked on campus.

Visitors with disabled placard or license plate from the DOT may park in the GUEST accessible parking stalls and at any parking meter without plugging the meter. Disabled tags and plates are not honored in permit areas without a valid UWSP accessible parking permit.

Appeals: Prior to filing an official Appeal, please contact the Parking Services Office to discuss if you feel the citation was written in error.  Most issues can be resolved prior to escalation to the Appeals Process.  Appeal forms are available from the Parking Services Office if a resolution can not be made.  Citations may be appealed before the 21 day due date and after payment has been received. Appeal forms are available from the Parking Services Office. Expired Meter, No Valid Handicap Permit, and Fire Zone violations are NOT appealable

Appeals may also not be accepted for

  • Failure to report a failed meter prior to citation
  • Forgetting to display permit
  • Lack of funds to pay citation
  • Lack of parking spaces or lack of convenient parking spaces
  • Not seeing/reading signs
  • Parking illegally for a short period of time
  • Received parking information that did not come from Parking Services
  • Time constraints (late for meeting/class, meeting/class ran long, etc.)
  • Ignorance of UWSP parking regulations

Appeals are reviewed by the Parking Appeals Committee, comprised of university faculty, staff and students. The committee will vote to either accept the appeal (void citation) or reject the appeal (uphold citation).
