Remote Desktop - Windows 10/11

In Windows
Search box begin typing
Remote Desktop.

Select Remote Desktop Connection from the search results list.

In the Remote Desktop Connection box, enter your UWSP computer name followed by ".uwsp.edu" and then select
Show Options.
For example, spointer-wd.uwsp.edu. For instructions on how to find a UWSP computer name, visit the
General FAQ page.

Select the
Advanced tab.

Click
Settings…
- Complete the following:
- Select "Use these RD Gateway server settings".
- For
Server name type in
remotedesktop.uwsp.edu.
- Check
"Bypass RD Gateway server for local addresses".
- Check
"Use my RD Gateway credentials for the remote computer".

Click
Ok.

Click
"Connect for the Remote Desktop Connection".

Enter your UWSP username@uwsp.edu and your UWSP password and click
OK.

Click
Yes if you receive a warning notice,
"The identity of the remote computer cannot be verified. Do you want to connect anyway?"

Check the box next to
"Don't ask me again for connections to this computer" to prevent this prompt from reoccuring.
You are now remotely connected to your computer.

Wake My Computer website to power on your computer.
