Welcome New Faculty and Staff!
Here are a few tips from Information Technology to help you get off to a great start at UWSP!
Before You Arrive on Campus
First, activate your network account. Your UWSP account is needed to log into campus network resources and your office computer. If you have not yet activated your account, complete your Account Activation. During the activation process your Username will be displayed and you will be asked to create a secure password.
Next, set up Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your devices and request your MFA hardware token. 30-days after your UWSP account activation, MFA will be enforced whenever you access a UWSP resource requiring a higher level of security. Set up MFA as soon as you have activated your UWSP account to prevent being locked out of important systems and services.
Finally, start to use your UWSP email: All UWSP related messages will be sent to your UWSP email account, and your email account will be your main contact point while working at UWSP. At home, or when traveling, you can access your UWSP email through Outlook Web Access (OWA) https://email.uwsp.edu or with the Outlook app on your mobile device. From your office computer, you will be able to access your UWSP email using the Outlook 365 Desktop application.

Your First Day
Set up your office voice mail PIN and record a personal greeting: The
Telephone Support Office provides instructions for easy set up.
Review the My Wisconsin (myUW) portal.There you will find modules to update your personal information, review payroll information and record leave time.
Read the day's Campus Announcements: Watch for the daily Campus Announcements in your UWSP email alerting you to important news and events on campus including information about IT services, scheduled upgrades and our IT Newsletter!
Your First Week
Upgrade your personal computer with free Microsoft Office 365: Microsoft Office 365 is free for you to install at home for use throughout your employment at UW-Stevens Point.
Get to know your OneDrive Cloud file storage: Microsoft's OneDrive for Business is UWSP's cloud storage for your work files and is accessible through your
Office 365 for Business portal. OneDrive also allows you to share and collaborate on documents with other faculty and staff.
Explore your myPoint portal: myPoint is our campus portal which provides access to a number of administrative and academic management tools for the University.
Also Good to Know
IT equipment and supplies: IT related items are required to be purchased through
Information Technology Purchasing. Check first with your department chair or manager regarding funding for these items. IT equipment purchased for you and provided to you during your employment is required to be returned should you leave or retire from UWSP.
About your email address: You have two email addresses, your default email address Username@uwsp.edu is used to log into the UWSP network and resources. You also have FirstName.LastName@uwsp.edu. Both addresses deliver mail to the same account. For more information about your username and email address formats, click here.
Information security and technology policies: Student, health and human resources information are all protected by various laws and regulations. As a faculty/staff member at the University you are required to be familiar with these policies. Please review these policies and the
FERPA policies at the
Office of the Registrar.
