ISO Assisted Scans - Unit Leaders Area
A unit leader's role is to direct employees to review scan results, help resolve any
questions and confirm completion of the sensitive data cleanup effort in their unit.
The ISO assisted scanning process includes three phases. The Preparation phase prepares
employee computers for Identity Finders scans. The final cleanup phase validates the data cleanup.
The middle phase is a scan that finds and cleans sensitive data. This scan will run on
Fridays at 6:00PM. During this phase, office computers should be left powered on and logged
in with keyboards locked on Friday evenings. If the scan is not able to be run because a
computer was off on Friday evening, it will automatically run as soon as the computer has
been powered on and the user logs in the following week.
Unit leaders coordinate progress by reviewing Identity Finder reports and communicating with
both employees and the appropriate Data Steward. During each step of the three phases, unit
leaders may inform and instruct employees on how to proceed via email which can be
downloaded here.
Instructions for unit leaders are detailed in the sensitive data scan procedure.
