Our Commitment to an Inclusive Campus
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) is committed to fostering a sustainable and inclusive campus community by striving to dismantle bias and hate and empowering marginalized voices. To sustain this commitment, we must recognize cultural competence as central to the pursuit of inclusive excellence. Inclusion is the active and intentional effort to create an environment where every individual feels valued and respected. We must endeavor to listen and learn from others of diverse backgrounds, identities, and perspectives. Our intentional commitment allows us to develop, support, and educate our students and one another to constructively engage in local, regional, and global communities.
As a campus community with changing student, faculty, and staff demographics, it is imperative we work together in the pursuit of inclusive excellence to actualize human rights for all. By building collaborative advocacy across campuses and within our communities, we pledge to engage in meaningful conversations, embrace civil dialogue, and work together to build a university community that is truly reflective of the world in which we live. Our commitment to this process allows us to build a stronger UWSP.
