How to Register

Please select the type of registration that fits your needs from the list below. 

Teacher

STEP 1

Teachers will provide students with the following forms:

  1. Workshop Selection/Release Form 
  2. Workshop Titles and Descriptions

STEP 2

Teachers will then need to collect the following from students: 

  1. Workshop Selection/Release Form - Filled out by student (Signed by parent/guardian)
  2. $40 registration payment (if students, not the school, pays for their attendance) 

STEP 3

Teachers will then register students:
  1. Register online

    Please register students on one order using the teacher's email for the primary contact. After the students are registered you may pay by credit card, or by check (select pay with purchase order). If you are sending in a check please address to UWSP-Continuing Education and mail to UWSP -Continuing Education, 2100 Main St., 032 Old Main, Stevens Point, WI 54481.  For detailed online registration directions please see the heading "Online Registration Tips" below. 

  2. Turn in Release Forms

    Scan and email completed Release Forms to uwspceweb@uwsp.edu or mail to UWSP -Continuing Education, 2100 Main St., 032 Old Main, Stevens Point, WI 54481

***One chaperone may attend, free of charge, for every 10 students in attendance with their school. This free spot is only available under the condition that the chaperone agrees to attend all three assigned sessions and assist in classroom management. Homeschool

Parents registering individual students:

  1. Ask the student to complete the Workshop Selection Form

  2. Register the student's information online

    1. Use the parent email as the primary contact
    2.  Enter "homeschool" for the student's school

  3. Register a parent if attending (register as a chaperone)

  4. Complete payment.

    1. You will be prompted to enter your card information after checkout or you can mail a check to 2100 Main St., 032 Old Main, Stevens Point, WI 54481. Checks will need to be addressed to UWSP-Continuing Education.

  5. Turn in Photo Liability and Release Forms to UW-Stevens Point Continuing Education.

Chaperone

One chaperone may attend, free of charge, for every 10 students in attendance with their school. This free spot is only available under the condition that the chaperone agrees to attend all three assigned sessions and assist in classroom management.

Registering as a group

If you are a chaperone in charge of registering others please be sure to register yourself, and then register your students all on the same order. Please see the instructions for Teachers on how to register a group. 

Registering individually

If you are registering only yourself you may register online or by mail (paper registration). Please indicate the school you will be a chaperone for.

If you are required to pay for yourself (the school is not covering the cost), you will be prompted to enter your card information after checkout or you can mail a check to 2100 Main St., 032 Old Main, Stevens Point, WI 54481. Checks will need to be addressed to UWSP-Continuing Education.

Volunteer

Volunteer opportunities are avilable for both full-day and half-day positions. Each volunteer receives a free t-shirt and hours towards your student organization or resume. This a fun and easy way to gain experience!

Full-Day

8 a.m. - 3 p.m. with a free lunch included!

Half-Day

9 - 11 a.m.
 
11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Parent

Parents should not register their child individually if they are attending STEAM Point Days with their school!

Please only register your child if you have spoken to your school and they have approved their individual registration. ​

Parents registering individual students:
  1. Ask the student to complete the Workshop Selection Form

  2. Register the student's information online

    1. Use the parent email as the primary contact (unless previously instructed to use the teacher's email).
    2. MUST INCLUDE SCHOOL or write homeschool. (more than one individual may register from the same school, we would like to group these students together).

  3. Register a parent if attending (register as a chaperone)

  4. Complete payment.

    1. If you are required to pay for yourself (the school is not covering the cost), you will be prompted to enter your card information after checkout or you can mail a check to 2100 Main St., 032 Old Main, Stevens Point, WI 54481. Checks will need to be addressed to UWSP-Continuing Education.

  5. Turn in Release Forms to UW-Stevens Point Continuing Education and Outreach Office. (unless previously instructed to turn them into your teacher).

STEAM Point Day for Girls

Fees:
$40 Student
$20 Chaperone

Teaching aides: Some children require a teaching aide in order to attend the event.  Please contact us if a teaching aide is required.

Payment


Payment for each attending person and Release Forms for each attending student are due by Jan. 18, 2023

We accept the following credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.  Make checks payable to UW-Stevens Point and mail to Continuing Education, Room 032 Main Building, 2100 Main St. Stevens Point, WI 54481. 

Note to Teachers, Parents, and Chaperones Registering Students Online:


Please DO NOT allow students to register themselves using their school email accounts:

  1. Register each student online under the student/parent/chaperone account and select "I am registering for someone else" to enter the student's information. 

  2. The Registration Selection Form allows you to enter each student's lunch, t-shirt size, and workshop selections.

  3. Register each chaperone online.

  4. Payment and Release forms are due exactly one week prior to the event. Refer to the "Registration Information" section above for specific dates.

Note to Teachers and Parents: If you register your child to attend and send them with their school group, please notify the school that your child is registered and will attend with the school. Also discuss if payment was made directly to us or if payment will be made to the school. The school will not know your child is registered unless you notify them. 

Online Registraion Tips


For School Groups


Select ONE email address for your entire school group, preferably the attending chaperone.  The person whose email is associated with a school group (or individual student) will receive ALL the correspondence related to the program such as the registration confirmation, payment information, and workshop placement emails. 

Please do not have students register themselves using student email accounts
 because the attending chaperone will not receive the registration confirmation for these individuals.  

You may register online many times. Use the same school name and email address for each person associated with your group each time you register.  Each time you register completely through the payment screen, you create a new "order" and every order has a separate confirmation and order number. When it is time for your invoice (should you need a copy), we are able to view all your orders to create one complete invoice. 

Register online quickly. The program will time out in approximately 30 minutes. If you have a lot of students, register them in batches using the same school name and email address. Each new group registered will be on multiple orders but still under your school name. 

Online Registration-Editing Mistakes: 


You can only make changes to registrations on the summary page where you see an "edit" button. If you went to the payment area, you missed the opportunity to make changes. At this point, you can no longer make changes to your order. If you think you made a mistake, just contact us at 715-346-3838. We will take care of it for you!

Confirmation Emails After You Register (two are sent)


Confirmation Email #1: 

Your first email confirms registration to the program, payment due, and allows you to see the information selected for each person. You may contact us with changes at this point. If you did not register students all at one time, you will have multiple confirmation emails with a few people on each email. PLEASE REVIEW CONFIRMATION LETTERS FOR ACCURACY.  

Workshop Placement Email #2:

This is sent to the email address associated with the attending person (typically to the school chaperone or parent) on the Friday prior to the event. The email contains the three workshops  the student will attend and contains additional program details.
