Agility has never been more critical! Employers and employees are being challenged to respond and adapt to change more quickly. Earn your Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate and optimize the efficiency and performance of your work and your organization.

In this 100% online program, you will learn from professionals with real-world success and use Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques to complete a business challenge project. Upon completion of this program, you will sit for the Certified Six Sigma Green Belt exam. This completed certificate program can also be applied towards UWSP's Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduate degree​.​​​ Interested students can be granted 3 graduate credits equivalent to BUS 730 in the MBA curriculum by completing a Prior Learning Assessment Form and submitting necessary fees and documentation. Course Focus

This course will introduce students to the foundational concepts and theories of both Lean and Six Sigma as well as how to facilitate a project to completion through the use of the Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) framework. The DMAIC framework is best suited for projects where the cause of the problem and the solution is unknown.

To earn certification, learners must:

  • Demonstrate competency applying the minimum required Lean Six Sigma Green Belt tools

  • Complete an improvement project valued at more than $25,000 in annual savings

  • Pass a certification exam to prove mastery of the course material​

At the end of this course, learners will:

  • Understand and recognize fundamentals of Six Sigma principles, organization roles, and their value to the organization

  • Understand team dynamics, project stakeholders and customers and how they impact a project

  • Be able to apply a core set of analytical tools and metrics to aid in decision-making and project execution

  • Have an understanding of all the Lean Six Sigma concepts at a Green Belt level of comprehension

  • Be able to facilitate improvement projects following the DMAIC project framework​

Chris Spranger, MBA, ASQ Certified Master Black Belt, is the founder and CEO of Spranger Business Solutions, a management consulting firm that helps people run more efficient businesses, specifically focusing on Lean Six Sigma coaching, training, and program deployments.

Course Delivery and Materials​

Course Delivery

The course is delivered through synchronous and asynchronous work, with self-paced modules, instructor-led group sessions, and 1-on-1 project coaching. All synchronous sessions are conducted virtually, so no travel is required. Lifetime access to video walkthroughs and a downloadable e-book is included.

The course will begin October 17th and last approximately 6 - 8 months, each learner will finish when their certification requirements have been met. Specific dates for synchronous sessions will be provided upon registration.

Materials

Each student will be provided with an ebook that parallels the American Society for Quality Six Sigma Green Belt Body of knowledge and contains all the topics discussed in the course. Electronic downloadable templates used or referenced during the class are included. Students will need a laptop computer or other mobile device with Microsoft Word and Excel.​​

Refund Policy

Refunds will be granted if the Continuing Education and Outreach office is contacted at least seven (14) days before the start of a class. No refunds will be given with less than seven (14) days notice. Programs that involve pre-ordering of materials and/or travel will not qualify for a refund unless your space can be filled from a waiting list. We reserve the right to cancel a course due to low enrollment, severe weather, or instructor illness. A full refund will be issued under these circumstances.
