Embark on an enriching journey to the charming town of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where a delightful blend of scenic beauty, celestial wonders, and leisurely shopping awaits. Take a guided tour of the iconic Yerkes Observatory to learn about the groundbreaking discoveries made there and peer through the telescopes that have unveiled the mysteries of the night sky. Indulge in lunch at Pier 290, a lakeside haven offering a blend of culinary delights and scenic views. Browse through boutique stores offering an array of unique finds, from locally crafted goods to charming souvenirs. Wrap up the day with a leisurely boat ride on the crystal-clear waters of Lake Geneva with breathtaking views of lush greenery, charming lakeside cottages, and the peaceful serenity of the lake.

Final payment is due by April 24, 2024. If you have not paid for your registration, you may do so by calling UW-Stevens Point Continuing Education at 715-346-3838, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., to pay by credit card. We accept Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.

​​Entree Selection-Pier 290


Select one of the following six entrees (All meals come with a chocolate chip cookie, coffee, and iced tea):

 

  • Waldorf Chicken Salad Sandwich – Slow roasted pulled chicken mixed with mayonnaise, salt, pepper, apples, celery and dried cherries. Served on an artisan herb multigrain bread.
  • Turkey Melt – Oven roasted turkey breast with smoked bacon, brie and strawberry chutney on Texas toast.
  • Roast Beef Deli – Slow roasted beef, chilled and sliced tender thin. Served on an artisan herb multigrain bread with horseradish mayo, cheddar cheese, red onion, lettuce and tomato.
  • 290 Steak Stack Burger – ½ pound blend of two stacked patties with sirloin, tri-tip, and chuck steak. Layered with cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Served on a toasted brioche bun with special 290 Sauce.
  • Grilled Chicken Sandwich – Lightly seasoned and grilled chicken breast with spinach, red onion, tomato, sliced avocado, and chipotle mayo. Served on a toasted brioche bun.
  • Chicken Caesar Salad – Classic recipe of crisp romaine, creamy Caesar dressing, homemade croutons and parmesan cheese, topped with sliced chicken breast strips.

 

All sandwiches are served with homemade 290 chips. ​

​​​Trip Information

Bus Transportation

You may bring food and drink onto the bus. The only restriction would be glass bottles and containers. Plastic bottles and cans are acceptable. For those who have asked, alcohol is allowed on the bus. Coolers are also welcomed but should not block the aisle. There is a bathroom on the bus. We hope to be back in Stevens Point around 7:30 p.m.

Bus Loading Time: 6:00 a.m. (please be on time)

Since we make financial commitments in advance, no refunds will be issued for cancellations. However, you may send a substitute in your place. Please email us at uwspceweb@uwsp.edu to inform us of the substitution.
