Elevate Your Baking Education with UW-Stevens Point & the Home Baking Association

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) program, in partnership with the Home Baking Association, offers dynamic baking-focused professional development for educators. This program equips secondary FCS teachers with best practices, innovative teaching strategies, and hands-on experience to enhance baking instruction while addressing challenges like short lab times and real-world career connections.

What You’ll Gain:

Our resources and labs align with FCS national standards and CTE career clusters, providing:

  • STEAM Integration – Explore sensory science, ingredient functions, innovative substitutions, farm-to-oven technology, baking arts, and baking math.
  • Food Safety Resources – Includes SERVSAFE supplements to support safe baking practices.
  • Culinary & Baking Techniques – Access online and physical resources to enhance classroom instruction.
  • Industry & Career Connections – Link students to real-world baking careers, from farm to mill to oven.

Cancellation Policy


Refunds will be granted if the Continuing Education and Outreach office is contacted at least seven (7) days before the start of a class. No refunds will be given with less than seven (7) days notice. Programs that involve pre-ordering of materials and/or travel will not qualify for a refund unless your space can be filled from a waiting list. We reserve the right to cancel a course due to low enrollment, severe weather, or instructor illness. A full refund will be issued under these circumstances. BE SURE to provide your email address and phone number when registering so we can contact you if a class is cancelled for any reason.
