The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum annually hosts the Birds in Art exhibit, an event "seeking to present the very best contemporary artistic interpretations of birds and related subject matter", according to the musuem's website.

The Wisconsin Center for Wildlife took students from the student chapter of The Wildlife Society and the Scientific Illustration Club on a field trip to view the Birds in Art exhibit on November 8th, 2018. We were extremely fortunate to have a tour of the galleries with Curator of Exhibits, Andy McGivern.  Mr. McGivern was also gracious enough to provide us with a rare and unique behind-the-scenes look at the artwork held in the museum's vaults.

This was a truly memorable experience, and a wonderful blend of wildlife and artwork. We look forward to returning next year!
