Plan Commission Workshops

The Center for Land Use Education offers plan commission workshops serving single and multi-county areas of Wisconsin. Workshops are designed for newly appointed plan commission members, veteran commissioners tackling complex issues, elected officials, and staff whose job it is to support local commissions.

​​​Zoning Workshop for Local Officials - Elkhorn

Tuesday, April 30, 2024,  (5:30-8:00 pm)

This workshop will provide the basics of zoning with an overview of the roles and responsibilities of local government officials involved in making zoning decisions. We will take a closer look at:

  • permitted and conditional uses
  • ordinance amendments
  • rezones

We will also discuss the role of the comprehensive plan and how to make legally defensible decisions by applying state and local ordinance standards. County planning and zoning staff will be on hand to answer questions specific to Walworth Count

Planning and Zoning Recorded Webinars

The Center for Land Use Education has conducted several planning and zoning webinars. The webinars are focused on orientatong new and continuing Wisconsin officials and staff to their roles and responsibilities related to zoning, planning, variances, subdivision regulations, conditional uses, and more. All webinar video recordings are available for purchase at $20 each. Three basic sessions are free.
