Teaching Conference 2026
This January, we invite you to join us to celebrate the joy of teaching at the 30th Annual UWSP Teaching Conference, on Wednesday, January 14. While we continue to juggle heavy workloads, burnout, and the uncertainty of the world around us, it’s more important than ever to reconnect with what brings us energy, meaning, and purpose in our work.
Our theme, “Teaching with Joy: Restoring Connection and Purpose,” invites us to reflect on the creative and caring ways we support student learning while also taking care of ourselves and each other. Joy in teaching isn’t just about what happens in the classroom. It’s also about the relationships we build with colleagues, the moments of collaboration, and the sense of community that helps us thrive.
Call For Proposals
We welcome proposals from colleagues in Academic or Student Affairs who want to share practices, strategies, or stories that spark joy, build connection, or support well-being. Whether it’s a new teaching approach, a way you’ve built community in your department, or something that’s helped you feel more grounded and supported, we want to hear about it.
Individuals or groups are invited to submit proposals for interactive workshops, panels, or individual presentations. Possible topics include:
- Pedagogies of Joy and Connection
- Instructor Well-Being and Sustainable Teaching
- Creative and Reflective Practices
- Inclusive and Trauma-Informed Teaching
- Community and Belonging in the Classroom
- Engaging Across Differences
- Building Supportive Professional Communities
Let’s gather to share what’s working, and to remind ourselves why this work matters and how it can bring us joy.
