Jess Bowers
Associate Professor
Professor Jess Bowers joined
the department in 2014 as a new social work faculty member. She teaches
Introduction to Social Work, Social Welfare Policies and Programs, and Social
Work Methods: Community Organizations and Social Service Administration. Professor
Bowers also coordinates the Social Work Field Education Program.
Prior to
coming to UWSP, Professor Bowers worked as a social worker at Marathon County
Department of Social Services in the realm of child welfare. She earned her master’s
degree in social work through UW-Oshkosh and has completed master’s level
education and field work in school social work. Professor Bowers also has
experience in the field of domestic violence, and she has conducted research on
Hmong adolescent girls.
