UW-Stevens Point Policies

As a UW-Stevens Point, you should be aware of the University's regulations that affect party hosts, organizers, and attendees.

Student Conduct Standards and Procedures

Students are expected to comply with Wisconsin law, University policies, and campus regulations. The Office of the Dean of Students manages the student conduct process and are happy to answer questions.

Alcohol Use on Campus

UW-Stevens Point strives to maintain a campus free from the illegal use, possession, or distribution of controlled substances.

Wisconsin state law, UWSP Chapter 17, UWSP Chapter 18, and Residential Living specific policies govern the appropriate use of alcohol on campus.

Off-campus Jurisdiction

The provisions of UWSP Chapter 17 may apply to student conduct that occurs off campus. Specifically, the University may choose to adjudicate off-campus conduct that:

  • Constitutes or would constitute a serious criminal offense, regardless of any criminal proceedings.
  • The student presented or may present a danger or threat to one's self or others.
  • The conduct demonstrates a pattern of behavior that seriously impairs the university's ability to fulfill its teaching, research, or public service missions.

Student Organization Conduct

Student organizations may be held accountable for the actions of their members on and off campus. Student organization officers should be fully aware of campus policies, local ordinances, and state laws.
