BIO

Dr. Sinan Kanbir earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Illinois State University. He teaches preservice teacher courses for elementary, middle school, and secondary school mathematics. His primary research interests encompass the development of students’ and teachers’ algebraic reasoning, the use of AI tools to enhance math learning, and the development of preservice and in-service teachers’ mathematical content knowledge for teaching. Professor Kanbir develops materials for K-12 students, organizes math circles, and contributes local and national contest. His central mission is to teach math with excellence, equity, and enthusiasm.
